The Method for Rehabilitation
Walking is an ideal method for re-mapping
the body’s movement patterns.
An imbalance in muscle strength is responsible for
an overwhelming amount of our physical discomfort.
The muscles of the body work in pairs and if one is
stronger than the other the body is pulled out of
its natural alignment. Hip injury, knee pain, lower
back discomfort can all be helped with a simple daily
regimen of individually tailored core exercises and
therapeutic walking.
Another aspect of lingering pain and
injury is chronic tension that can live in muscles
and create a gripping that never lets go. At the FitzGordon
Method we believe that these tense muscles must be
released before they can be stretched and strengthened.
This is a key component of our program and something
that we feel sets us apart from many other rehabilitative
modalities.
Balance is multifaceted and brings
tremendous change to the body and the spirit as well
fostering the belief that we can live free of pain.
